Peer Pressure ended February releasing two smooth and perfect examples of liquid drum and bass from Olski & Blastiksz. I for one am enjoying what seems to be a nod to the smoother, jazz influenced side of drum and bass starting out this year. These two top up and coming producers from Sweden teamed up for what is a perfect match in styles both in attention to subtle sounds and over all vibes of the music they are making. On “The Promise” this duo rolls out a stepper break with an ethereal wash of mutated horns, filtered and subtle reese bass lines, floating vocals, and dubbed out stings winding in and out of the mix. If you are a fan of what Ivy Lab, Calibre, or Lenzman have been doing as of late, you will no doubt enjoy these as well.
