Since embarking on his journey through Neurofunk, Current Value has been firmly positioned as my favorite producer. His effective subtly aggressive style is a refreshing and unique approach to the genre. His latest remix of “Overcome” by AnatomiX continues his march in a string of brilliant releases.
The track opens in a dreamy soundscape. The crisp snares and punchy kicks provide instant aural satisfaction. a sultry female vocal is introduced. The cohesiveness of the track starts to become unmistakable, the musical elements being perfectly positioned in the mix. As the tune approaches the first dance section, Current Values signature fluid white noise begins to fade in as the other elements filter out. The bassline hits you like a ton of bricks. During my first play of the track my roommate (not a dnb fan by any regard) turned around in his chair and said “God damnnn, that is dirty”. I must say I whole heatedly agree. The bassline continues to slip and slide throughout the duration of the track while still maintaining a curiously strong amount of weight. Coppa’s no nonsense vocals are the finishing touch on an already lethal dance floor weapon.
Current Value’s cornering the market with his Luxury sports car grade production. Brilliantly designed tracks with plenty of power under the hood to take your sets to new heights in breath taking style. If Current Value is a satisfying and exciting artists to follow. With a near constant release schedule of quality material he is a producer that truly enhances the the DJs experience.
