There are a lot of legendary status artists in Drum and Bass. Thats an obvious statement, but the longer that I do these Artist of the Week posts, the more I realize so many artists I have yet to get to that are literally the foundation for most of what I love in DNB, and we cant talk about that without mentioning the absolutely monumental contributions from supergroup Bad Company. Set to embark on their 25th anniversary of what some may call the anthem of all anthems in DNB, “The Nine”, they have had storied careers both as a group, and as solo artists as well. With their label Bad Taste being a pinnacle for many of the neurofunk heads like myself, they have stayed active and keeping the sound that we love moving for longer than many of us have even known of Drum and Bass. I could go on all day about the influential ways they have affected our entire culture, but I will close with a heart felt thank you, and hope this tribute in some way offers a sliver of appreciation for the epicness that is BAD COMPANY!
