Calyx & Teebee are a staple act in the drum and bass community for as long as some of you can remember. They have dropped countless anthems and incredible remixes over the past ten years as a duo with solo careers predating that. You can find them smashing clubs and festivals all over the world 365 days a year with their amazing performances and occasional 6 deck sets. This time around they’ve changed their sound up again showing once more they are one of the most versatile acts in the scene.
” Ruffian ” out with halftime percussion fading into the track with signature blend of Calyx & Teebee synths as a twisted and chopped vocal sample or atleast what can be interpreted as one is heard incoming. Ruffian non chalantly drops into an array of panning organic percussion paired with half time sounds chopping the dance into a state of slowed down grooving and head bobbing vibe. Some of Calyx & Teebee’s growling reese stabs can be heard throughout the track before it breaks in the clear. The second drop brings new fills and cuts to the track keeping the innovative sounds fresh in your head.
Overall this one for me is a stellar track sure to breakdown in any dance or festival getting deeper and darker! be sure to keep an ear out!
