Brazil’s Felipe Wrechiski, better known as Urbandawn, has had one hell of a 2019. After the release of his debut album ‘Gothenburg Cluster’ in 2016, Felipe had a relatively quiet release schedule in 2017 and 2018. Although he did release two EP’s and various singles during this time, nothing garnered anywhere near the attention that he has been receiving this year. After gaining huge amounts of popularity with his bootleg of The Beatles ‘Come Together’ early this year, he released his Beatport chart-topping tune to critical acclaim in May. So the question on everyone’s mind is “what’s next”?
The answer comes as a part of a collaboration between Hospital Records and Jet Star, which is fittingly titled ‘Jet Star Meets Hospital’. Urbandawn has unleashed a beastly remix of one of Jamaica’s most beloved Reggae artists newest songs, Chaka Demus – ‘Forward & Pull Up’. This song, which just begs to be played out at summer festivals, is proof that Felipe isn’t a one hit wonder. Smooth guitar riffs and subtle horns, along with the vocals of Chaka Demus, lend themselves perfectly to Urbandawn’s future funk stylings.
You can expect to hear this song, along with many others from the Jet Star Meets Hospital album, to be played at nearly every Drum and Bass festival you attend this summer (and beyond). If you don’t know, get to know, because the badman known as Urbandawn is here to stay.
One love,
Alpha
