Champion Sound – Q Project (2016 DLR Remix) – C.I.A.

This classic reborn is one of my all time favorites, honestly drum and bass fans… how can you not love the original, Champion Sound is one of the most iconic tunes in the genre ever made. With DLR on the remix we can assure you this will be the re-emergance of that big sound. To many Champion Sound is one of the most memorable tracks from the early days of drum and bass, 20 years later you can still hear the original and its various early remixes sprinkled into dj’s sets around the globe. The true definition of a classic. To me it will always resemble the days when dnb was coming into its own sound, developing a personality that stood out from the crowd, rapidly evolving, reaching through the speakers and adjusting your life in a few short yet heavy notes…very similar to how drum and bass is evolving now actually. Q project (of Total Science) was responsible for the original, but DLR is showing us how its done in the days of new, revamping this track to fit his signature hard hitting sound without loosing the integrity of the original song. He has given the old school drum and bass lovers of the world a rejuvenated version of this to enjoy, while exposing the newer generation to a sound that has helped mold drum and bass into what it is today. What a great way to celebrate the C.I.A. 20 year anniversary! Kicking things off with this sampler, showing us a few new tunes from the likes of Calibre and Total Science and classic remixes with this particular tune leading the way from DLR, I can’t wait to hear the full album. You can get this remix on all legitimate digital retail outlets, so buy it and play it loud!
