Cycle – Repost [Schedule One Recordings]

The duo of Antti Huurinainen & Toni Lamberg hailing from Lahti, Finland are better known as Cycle and they have a new EP, Human Equals, out now on Schedule One recordings. All four tracks on the release are a well-balanced blend of dark and techy notes, melodic harmonies, and the kind of funk that gave neurofunk its name in the first place.

The other three tracks on the EP are more dancefloor centered rollers but the one I keep going back to is Repost. It is a much more minimal song in nature and construction then the others and also the most haunting offering out of them all. It has hypnotic layers of percussion and bass. It builds slowly as the track progresses with small bits and edits weaving in and out creating a spacious blend of striped down quality drum and bass.
