ESKR is about to drop a bombshell on the drum and bass scene this week as the ‘Solstice LP’ breaks through the sound waves on Grand Theft Audio Recordings and trust me when I say this LP is LOADED with groovy, grimy sounds. Taking a look at this album in its entirety we really have to appreciate ESKR’s technique with immense attention to detail, solid intros, longer compositions and a wider range of creative spaces for the DJ to utilize in the mix. Superbly mastered and overflowing with thick, full sound there’s plenty of variety and depth in the ‘Solstice LP’ as a whole and most importantly?? EVERY TRACK HITS!!

Let’s get into the ‘Solstice LP’ from ESKR on Grand Theft Audio Recordings.

Solstice

Overflowing with soulful vibes and snappy rhythms that carry through the drop title track “Solstice” definitely hits the sweet spot while teetering on the darker side of dnb as the rhythms whip through the mix alongside elastic basslines. The vocalizations perfectly enhance the moodiness of the track “Solstice” is a selection that is sure to pick up the mix!

Everything w/Sola

“Everything” is enthralled with aggressively atmospheric elements and angry basslines that power this composition tumbling along. Manic melodies amp up the aggression and the second drop furiously changes face. Brutal and banging “Everything” from ESKR and Sola snaps between space and time.

Wonder

Electrifyingly punchy from the first beat smooth vocals bring a groove to the grime as the composition stutters and blasts between beastly booms of bass that growl and grind filled by energetic effects and ferocious fills. Fun, funky and very technically rounded you’ll crave the flavor that “Wonder” adds your set.

My Way

Big breaks and crunchy bass shine in “My Way”. Steady and fluid this track jams through the measures supported by fascinating flares and twists that bring the bass to the center of the show. A bit more minimal in design “My Way” maximizes the power it pumps into the mix.

Get It

The high ends create quite a buzz in “Get It” as gnarly rhythms control the composition with a bouncy sway. The horns steal the spotlight as they burst between bubbly bass that bounces and growls with energetic pads to manipulate the room into a full on dance. “Get It” brings a dynamically thick wobble to fully test the bins.

Higher

Sultry synths are perfectly paired with voluptuous vocalizations that will enthrall as they sweep through the build. Relentless and rabid the bassline bellows from the lowest lows, heaving and contorting as the rhythms steady the groove. A hint of jungle in the undertones heightens the mood but “Higher” is still riding on the wild side of dark and devious dnb.

Out There w/Okreglucky

Punchy beats awaken the intro complimented with warm pads as “Out There” builds into a bit of a softer, mellow vibe to emit through the tune. Melodies weave through the measures as basslines glide enhancing the undertones. Intensely technical “Out There” will keep the mix moving extra smooth.

Bounce to This

“Bounce to This” aggressively storms through the mix. Dark, dramatic and, well, bouncy, it slashes and slaps with a sinister vibe building a serious groove that bangs effortlessly the entire way through. The highs blend brilliantly heightening the hostility with alarming regard. Get in step and “Bounce to This” to elevate your set!

Cats With Glasses

If you’re not already sold on the title to this one “Cats With Glasses” will be sure to sway you with its serious flow that’s about to overflow all over the dance floor! This one dips and dives with graceful energy to pounce and whip the floor into full motion. Ferocious melodies ride amidst playfully patterned drums and purrrrrring basslines. “Cats With Glasses” is funky and fun, what’s not to love?!

My Ugly Sweater

Diving in with drums that demand attention and a tinge of a jungle vibe “My Ugly Sweater” unwinds toward the drop, primed to detonate in an all out assault of the most brutal bass. A new aged, dance floor groove forcefully asserts itself into this genre bending display of sound design. Intense, electrifying and dubby “My Ugly Sweater” will heat any floor up!

Destination w/Cantsay

A cinematic intro sets the scene for a “Destination” unknown winding through the spine tingling darkness as soft, symphonic melodies light the way. Intensity amplifies tumbling into the drop full of steppy beats harmonizing in unforgiving fashion, balancing the composition, as the bassline sneaks in to engulf the floor. “Destination” is melancholy and moody creating a mind-bending atmosphere in the mix.

Gravy Train

Funky beats bring the build to a peak before this wild womper stomper is unleashed, bursting through the drop with fury. Rumbling basslines wobble and tumble energetically grinding as they pull the electricity to the foreground as the crescendo corruptly flipping the groove with the ultimate energy to make the floor move. The mastery in technical composition from ESKR on “Gravy Train” brings NOISIA to mind thinking of the overall style and mood. ESKR is on track with this one ALL. THE. WAY.

Noize of Thunder w/State of Decay

Storming through the end of ESKR’s ‘Solstice LP’ in style is “Noize of Thunder” with State of Decay, ultimately the most theatrical display of drum and bass on this release. An utterly suspenseful intro sets the state for terror as it booms and bangs into a daring display of futuristic functionality. Rhythms ravage the composition as terrifyingly thick basslines rebound to smack with that bin blasting sound that flips the room around.

That wraps up the ‘Solstice LP’ from ESKR on Grand Theft Audio Recordings. ESKR knows just how to build interest in composition and utilization of sounds balancing various elements from percussive and effects to a wide array of samples and sounds to entice the ears and simulate the mind. Thirteen tracks on a well rounded LP this entire track list just doesn’t miss.
