“OnlyDans” premier a PPV experience with bangers on Stonx Music

This past week, there was a reveal like no other in the realm of dnb. Three American guys, named Dan, slammed out a double pack of heaters for Stonx Music. The infamous UK based label, ran by the badman like Stonx. The convergence of Faux Realz , Protoss & Noisesmith came to fruition at a bbq in Atlanta almost a year ago.

While waiting to get blasted for a weekend of dnb at Jungle Bells, These three strangers became true hombre’s at first sight. Finding comradary powered by the love of neurofunk and skullstep. Little did they know, that they would share the same billing on compilations and label placements over the next few months. Let alone bring the universe two super solid tunes that are currently climbing the Beatport charts. Allowing the world of dnb to be baptized in the gospel of neurofunk and dark gritty drum and bass.

The opening tune “Awakening” a sharp fast moving cybernetic nightmare. Transposed into a rolling neuro slammer. Complete with a cinematic intro. Followed by a series of squeals, screeches, sharp edits and rolling basslines. The second drop kicks us in the 4×4 feels for a few bars , but then dips back into the rolling stepper that make up the bones of the tune. This tune is frenetic, fun and slightly dark. A very good transition piece for the dance floor to keep the energy up.

Next up is the haunting “The Altar“. A truly dark dystopian banger that is firing on all cylinders. The series of drum edits and massive amount of layering. Leads me to believe this is the one that Noisesmith had the biggest hand in. This jammer has elements of etherial vocals, crunchy low end, a variety of grooves and an amazing use of sweeps and dynamics. Solid piece of work that reminds me of mid 2000’s Enduser & Ohm Resistance releases.

Both of these tunes stand in their own lane. One a more dance friendly piece. The other a cerebral listeners exhibit. One an opener, the other a closer. Together a perfect example of three people coming together to create music that you can hear everyones inspiration. This is the first and hopefully not the last time these guys work together. WE NEED MAS!!!!
