Fernando Ferreira – Old City Center – D-LiQ Records

What’s Up DnB heads!  Strex back with another feature of a new release, this one on D-LiQ Records and is out on the 23rd October from Fernando Ferreira called Old City Center.

Fernando recently had Santo Amaro Mood out on Neville G’s label D-LiQ Records which was a brilliant release so we’re in for a good treat here I’m sure.

First out the gates is a tune called Badly.  This one has a wicked vocal in the intro which leads us to a quality drop with smooth basslines and a really melodic piano riff.  Really chilled affair with this one and I’m really feeling it.  A head nodder while retaining a beautiful sound that really gets you vibing.

Next up is the title track Old City Center which starts off with some samples that could almost be akin to rushing traffic in a city centre and then a jazzy vibe which takes you to the drop.  This one is a wicked tune that takes you back to an old city Jazz club which I guess is the intention.  A brilliant story telling tune that is definitely one not to be missed out on with the subtle brass instruments and harmonic strings.

Next up the tune is Waiting Until Dusk which has quite a cool and heavy sounding beat to start you off with another melodic vocal which sends the right kind of chills down your spine.  When the tune drops it’s  alovely rolling liquid track that has a nice amount of atmosphere that compliments all the accompanying instruments perfectly.  Wicked track here from Fernando.

All in all, this is a quality release which you’ll be able to pick up on Monday 23rd October by clicking the artwork below and don’t forget there are clips below too:

Absolute D&B nut! Love any type of Drum & Bass really but Neuro is my main passion. I got into D&B back in around 2004 where I started going raving, I then discovered heavier D&B in the form of Renegade Hardware nights in London which I attended almost every one for several years. Having developed my listening style with how the music has evolved I love the freshest tunes as well as the old ones! I've been mixing for fun since around 2005 and just love playing in front of people and sharing the music with likeminded people.
