Here we have another release from the epic up and coming D-LiQ Records who are churning out some great releases. This one from Fishy is a little different to normal and is a more atmopheric release.
First up on the release is the title track, Shadows on the Horizon which brings a real moody vibe with a simplistic beat and subtle bass line. Quite a gritty sounding track all the same and almost gives you chills as it swings through the bars. A lovely little guitar riff which aides the mood on this complemented with an awesome bit of piano in the background. The tune almost has a hip-hop feel to it but at a rather welcomed 174bpm.
Next up is Total Disbelief which is another cracking track to bring the mood to you. A really slow building intro leads you to a fairly dark tune with a wicked pulsating bass line and a quality beat. Really feeling this tune, even though it’s fairly chilled I still found my face screwing up in appreciation. Another great use of some melodic piano on this tune too, Fishy does this really well.
What a brilliant release, something a a bit different from D-LiQ but it really works and hopefully some more of this to come.
