Back in July we got down to business with Deejay Bomber the man behind Dub Stomp 2 Bass and their one-hundredth release as a digital label. If you have been subscribing to our monthly mix series show casing forthcoming material from the Birmingham camp you’ll know that the Calendar month for September into October to the sister label of the franchise Audio Overload will be seeing sound releases from the likes of Jedi, Evil Intention, Aliman Ali and mister Peter Prospex. This is Jump Up Drum And Bass ladies and gentlemen, and there is a market for it that starts with the yout’.

Prospex’s promotional freebie gets the unlock at his soundcloud‘s two-hundredth follower count. The VIP to ‘In Your Head’ previously heard on Audio Overload about 20 releases ago. Expecting a full EP later this year, this free tune will be a nice way to hold us over for the time being. Until Then, dropping this Friday the eighth Evil Intention’s following suit with Prospex’s Jump Up stomper with his tune titled ‘Musical Experience’. Powerful lows with running tops with extra loud mids seems to be the signature to Evil’s production. A nice wobbly thick b-line for the flip on this two track EP leave us with ‘Misery and Suffering’, which leaves you putting this release in your bin.
EVIL INTENTION – MUSICAL EXPERIENCE / MISERY N SUFFERING – EXCLUSIVE TO JUNO 8TH SEPT
There is nobody that sounds like Jedi, period. People remind me constantly they’ve never heard drum and bass like this before. His LP that came out on Dub Stomp 2 Bass was a breakthrough in his production. Just when think you have achieved next level sound, his LP coming out beginning of next year on the imprint proves that the bar can only be set higher. ‘WTF’ and ‘1 Penny Pum Pum’ happen to be my favourite tunes off his four track syncopation of beats. Something about the basslines on these particular licks just sets them a part from the rest.
JEDI – WTF EP – EXCLUSIVE TO JUNO 22ND SEPT
The big drum big bass don returns beginning of October with the largest tune publicly accessible to-date. ‘Nothing’ is a force to be reckoned with if filling dance space with voluminous bass is on the agenda. Being the aggressor of the two, on the flip ‘Stepping Time’ is a healthy, big bass Jump Up dancefloor filler in comparison. A classic tale of “needs to be heard on a large system” I’m afraid.
EVIL INTENTION – NOTHING / STEPPIN TIME – EXCLUSIVE TO JUNO 6TH OCT
Two very identical productions from Aliman Ali ending off October scheduled releases with the extra large, highly anticipated ‘Japan VIP’. Impeccable that a VIP could also mean a variant in production and this track is a prime example of that. The follow up ‘Game VIP’ is no stranger to the theory either. Both similar yet very different to their respected predecessors. These are how VIPs should be done. With the ability to preview each tune allows you to buy or leave a creative response in the comment section below because feedback is an important factor when it comes to music. What do you think?
