Insomniax – Gravitron [Viper Recordings]

The duo known as Insomniax are back with a slamming single on Viper to get the season started right.   Insomniax are relatively new to the circuit but keep their quality control extremely high with releases. This time around they’ve done it again with a stripped down but extremely effective dance floor stepper!

Gravitron sets the tone with a future esque sci fi atmosphere painting a picture of megacities and bright lights. A spacey vocal sample can be heard before gargantuan stabs off bass can be heard shattering the calm back by an arpeggiated synth lead winding up into the build. The tension continues to rise before dropping into a heavily stepping chunky phrase that keeps the tune thick and heavy. Clever fills can be heard adding to the complexity of the track before delving into the break.

All in all this ones a great tune with lots of potential on the dancefloor and as a Dj tool being able to hit both the Neurofunk/Dancefloor drum and bass sounds in one take.
