Klute – “Read Between The Lines” [Commercial Suicide}

0

Not only is Klute the owner / CEO/ Boss Man of Commercial Suicide Records, he can also claim to have one of the best artist bios most of us will ever read, or ever hope to have in our endeavors. While you are at it, you can add in that he is one of the most genuine voices in drum and bass, and one of the top DJ’s I have ever seen. With all of that in mind, I am going to try to live up to all of those elements for this review.

On March 30th, Klute’s latest LP “Read Between The Lines” was released and has been receiving glowing reviews from just about everyone who has heard it. With his evil genius skills and mad scientist approach to creating music, Klute has delivered another irresistible full-length release that is without question worthy of all the praise being heaped onto him for it. Staying true to form for Klute, the music of this album is diverse and wide reaching. From eerie pads, deep layers of effects, and moody breaks on ‘Earth Spits Out The Living’ to the lush and rich tapestry of sounds on ‘Angle Maker’, to the electro influenced “Clappy”. There are so many influences on this complete LP that it is easy to see why the dates that Klute drops a new album are circled on most people’s calendars. No matter what style of drum and bass you are into, you will probably find something you will like on this release. I have always said, Klute, is a buy on sight level of producer and “Read Between The Lines” has done nothing to damage that reputation.
