KORAX IS HERE TO BRING THE TECH!!!

Coming in piping hot off ‘Decay Records‘, a sub-label of US based ‘Elm Imprint‘. Distant Lights , released worldwide May 21st 2021, is a smoldering single from new comer, Korax. Based out of Austin, Texas, Korax seems to be on the pulse of the re-birth of the tech rollers movement. A sound quite familiar to other US labels such as Section8, Onset Audio, Decay, and Tactical Audio.

‘Distant Lights‘ takes me right into the deep end. The tune itself uses tones and echo in a way that resemble what extraterrestrial soundscapes would be like in zero gravity. The low end of this tune compliments the many high frequency bleeps and panning noises. The ebb and flow of background melodies against the sharp pitched drums are especially noticeable.

The overall groove stays consistent the whole way through. Cyberdine esque’ tears in the subs leave a feeling like a foreign being was just manifested by alien lifeforms sent to destroy us. The darkness within this piece seems to be all encompassing, and resisting the blackness is futile.
