A little intro to this one by Dirtbox Recordings to start us off!
As we fly right into the middle of 2023, (Don’t blink you’ll miss it) We keep our promise of being one of the most forward thinking Drum and bass labels in the world, showcasing as much variety as possible from every corner of the planet.
Release 39 is no exception, as we travel up to the North of England where they put gravy on chips and they call fish cakes `Risoles”
That’s right! We’re in Middlesbrough, where a 25 year old filth monger named `L3MMY DUBZ` can be found in his grotto of carnage, puking out some of the most deranged and exciting 170+bpm drum and bass the city has to offer.
Being involved in music since the tender age of 11 years old where he cut his teeth playing the drums in school.
It wasn’t until he hit the age of 14 that he discovered the joys of electronic music, and using a computer, he was able to produce by himself.
Starting out with deep dubstep and acid house, It wasn’t long until he was experimenting with different types of hardware to establish his own sound and this is what got his Dubstep music recognised.
It wasn’t until his first Drum & Bass release though on the label `Gully Beats` that Liam was able to get momentum behind his name which then lead to multiple regular gigs around the local area.
Releases flowed thick and fast with constant output on a flurry of labels. Most notably Cre8DNB ran by the legendary Dj Blackley.
Support mounted at a staggering rate as acts such as Pendulum, Dj Craze, Dj Guv and many more supported his music 2023 has now seen L3MMY DUBZ appear on some of the best labels most adapted to his sound and gigs across the world with regular stops now in Belgium and other European destinations.
Which leads us to today and what we are proud to call the “Dissonant Artillery” EP.

First up we have a track called Air Strike which builds up with some absolte filth that we expect from L3MMY DUBZ. I love his unique sound as his drops often sound like you’ve been struggling to get something horrible down the plughole and it suddenly gives way and these digusting beats, basslines and samples slap you right across the face you can almost feel them. What a first track, I will have fun dropping this.
Next track is Phased Out Reality which has quite a feeling of early-mid 2000’s Tech DnB, then you hear the computer calculations working out that this needs to have the L3MMY DUBZ twist and it drops into a raw and naughty driven tune which does have some feels of Raiden and that Therapy Sessions sound of old. Love it, yet again L3MMY pushes the boundaries.
Last but not least on this one is Uncanny which has a nice atmospheric intro which has some little samples which could be mistaken for some mosquitos buzzing round you head on a summers evening. Well, if they were they would soon be gone when the tune drops and you get sideswiped with more filth from the main man. Absolutely quality production skills this man has!
