As February rolls on the scene has ferociously been unleashing some incredible music. With springtime in sight the energy is shifting full gear into some incredible tunes! Lets hop into to the past few weeks with some of my favorite cuts!
Bensley – Ascension. The Canadian badman is back with a dancefloor weapon with its target to get you moving. Ascension covers the the floor in a heavily saturated, snapping and popping tone perfect for layering in the mix which makes it an absolutely great DJ tool, featuring some unique sound design and percussion patterns on this one. Ascension is out now on RAM and you can give it a listen here.
#2 Gunston – Thing Changes (Zero T Remix)
Switching up the vibe we get some really groovey rolling material from Hyper Activity. Zero T steps up for remix duty laying down a smooth and clean vibey track bringing some more contemporary vibes to the table.
#3 M-zine & Scepticz – Uptalk
New from the Lifestyle music camp which has been releasing an absurd amount of incredible music as of recent. M-Zine & Scepticz have been cranking out a slew of bangers for the past couple years now. Their latest contribution is no different with the jazzy intellectual stepper entitled uptalk. Uptalk brings some seriously forward thinking grooves to the table and the rest of the EP on par.
#4 Maztek X Aeph – The Dirt
The return of Aeph is seen with a jawbreaking collaboration with another heavyweight contender Maztek. Maztek’s 0101 music brings the Warpath LP sampler with a filthy tune appropriately named ” The Dirt “. The tune brings a crunching and heinous bassline fit with laser sharp stabs and percussion fills.
#5 Octo Pi – Still
This next one comes courtesy of Lockdown Recordings latest LP ” Ill Truth Presents Volume One. Which features some of Drum and Bass’s brilliant upcoming minds. Octi Pi’s Contribution is a meticulously clean roller chock fill with progressing fills and a balanced atmosphere to make this a wicked contender in the dance.
