First time covering Lay Low Recordings so it aught to be a good’n. Certified, previously known as Certified Sickness reached out on a public post and I just had to answer, having a few Lay Low titles from the back catalog under my belt already was not the only reason for this request. Up and coming duo MelloDrama are the latest hot button for Drum And Bass music scene. So let us listen to the single “My Way” By MelloDrama a long with a healthy grip of remixes from the likes of Certified, Meloki and Midway.
Absolutely wonderful captivation of vocals, serious ‘boom-pip‘ on the intro coming in on the lighter note. The kicks and finger snaps so crisp and a bass line so full, and so subtle. There is a certain kind of vibe about “My Way” that sho’ look good to me.. something you can just ride. We can all agree that music is no contest, no competition. Certified‘s remix is the one for me. Elevation in sound, his remix of “My Way” maintains the original mixdown so well on the intro and the drop. All while having its own signature, Certified handled the original with care something I rate highly for remixes. On the more aggressive tip of Drum And Bass music Meloki‘s remix takes you on a roller-coaster of ups and downs. Still holding true to the original on the intro and paying tribute to tunes that drop after forty some seconds. Big drum big bass neuro funk. Each one of these guys did a fantastic job of staying true to The MelloDrama on the intro. Something unexpected after the drop. What remix extended play would be complete without a Jungle flip side? Midway murdered this “My Way” compilation with ease, badboy sounds. Ridiculously large roller with a bass line that just tears through time and space. Exclusive to JunoDownload, available right now.
