Modify Perspective Spotlight & top 10 Viper tracks

0
We had a chance to get to know a little more about the Drum and Bass producer / main force behind ‘Liquifyah’, known as Modify Perspective. In case you haven’t yet heard, he has been laying down some serious dance floor heat as of late, and that includes a new release with one of the biggest Drum and Bass labels around, the all mighty VIPER. Anyways, enough with the intros, catch the short interview below, paired with his top 10 viper tracks!

BDNB: Tell us a bit about yourself. What have you been up to lately?

MP: My name is Sam, known to some as Modify Perspective and to many others as ‘that hairy dreadlock man that runs Liquifyah’. I started Liquifyah, a collective of DJs and MCs based in Bristol, in 2012 with my friend Alun with the view to build a strong brand and run events as a platform to showcase the artists within the crew. I have been producing Drum & Bass for around 5 years on and off but haven’t released anything until now. I’ve been playing out quite a lot at various different events including Hospitality, RUN, Nozstock Festival, Glastonbury Festival and have had the honour of supporting some of my heroes including Calibre, Roni Size, Dillinja and Andy C among others. More recently I’ve launched a monthly Liquifyah Podcast which I have a lot of fun doing.

BDNB: Tell us a bit about your forthcoming release with Viper

MP: The track ‘Pay Off’ came about after years of talking about collaborating on a tune with Octo Pi, a very good friend of mine who sent me the instrumental to test out in the clubs. Jon sent the tune over to Viper who suggested the addition of a male vocal and we saw that as the perfect excuse for us to finally collaborate on something, so I penned some lyrics and a melody, we hit record and the result is what you hear.

BDNB: Anything exciting youd like to share with our readers planned for 2016?

MP: I’ve got quite a few DJ bookings to look forward to, some B2B sets with Octo Pi and also one coming up with a good friend and amazing producer Phaction, Liquifyah have got some room takeovers coming up in Bristol and Manchester which I’m really looking forward to, and I plan on finally airing some of the tracks I have sat on my hard drive and get in the studio to make some more!

BDNB: We know its hard to choose, but in celebration of your release with Viper, what are your top 10 releases from them of all time?
