Yo my friends!
Haven’t written up an Eatbrain release in a while but feel like I need to get one out there to you as I’m a big fan. If you know me, you’ll know I have the logo tattooed on my arm and I am an admin for their Facebook page.
This one is from Myselor, an artist who’s production quality has been astounding me for years now, mostly seeing some absolutely epic releases on the mighty Blackout, this is his first outing on Eatbrain in the form of a five track EP.
The EP entitiled Intuition, opens with a tune called Full Force. With a cinematic intro that gives you chills and takes you on a mystical journey. When it gets towards the drop, there is sudden energy that sounds the alarm, literally and the drop is a stompy, heavy affair that screws your face up and gets your head nodding. The tune slaps and is just absolute fire. What a way to start this debut EP off.
Next up we have a track called Emerging. This one has yet another perfectly crafted intro that sends chills down your spine with its amazing composure and awe-inspiring sound design. There is a sick reece that suddenly comes at you from the bowels of hell and then some stabby drums which then kick starts the tune with a sick drum roll and a stepping behemoth of a tune.
Next up we have the title track, Intuition which has a melodic and peaceful feel to start with which kind of gives vibes of relaxing in a mystical forest. The drum beat creeps in calmly too which is backed up by more melody and excellent production. The tune then builds and builds until it drops into a f**king filthy stomp fest that rattles you to the core. Once again Myselor shows us what he is made of in true to form style.
Beyond The Mind is next which begins like a computer starting up and then some trance style melody akin to his style and giving feels of Pythius style production which is no bad thing. The tune is another cinematic masterpiece as it grows and grows until the drop is near and the energy fades out to lull you into a tantric state before coming at you with a neurofunk heater. It’s not as energy fuelled as some of the others but the melodies give you everything you need and then when it switches up you’re kept on this magical journey.
Last but not least we have a track entitled Release. This one starts with a chilled beat, almost Massive Attack style. One to close your eyes to and drift off into Myselor’s world of mind blowing production. It’s so calming and really settles you after the rest of the tracks have punished you. When it drops after 2 and a half minutes, it’s still a wicked chilled track that has vibes for days.
This EP is a journey that takes you from face melting neuro to melodic neuro in five tracks. It’s quite frankly a masterpiece. I would love to see what Myselor does with a full-length album, he is in my mind a fairly underrated producer that has shown everyone here what he is made of. I don’t do ratings but if I did, this would be 10/10.
This collection of stunning production is available to purchase on August 26th. Get yourself a copy! Artwork below will take you to the page and as per normal, I have included some clips below too.
