One last banger from 2025. I share with you my new favorite from Octavate, Octavate – The Walls [Octavated Audio]. With a year of solid releases Octavate shows no signs of slowing down. Some tracks just hit the drum and bass spot like Arcade Dream. Octavates’ style brings that dark techstep vibe in a way that ties the new with the old and I cant wait for more in 2026. This unique sound of Octavate is something becoming more included in my sets and draws me towards tracks with similar vibes. Big ups Octavated Audio in 2026.

The Walls

An impact initiates the intro layered with static echoes into the distance. A vocal sample of dialogue reminiscent of rough times sets the tone. Droning eerie horns sound stretched to capacity in a deep empty space. All while a kick and bass momentarily rise and fall in the mix. The frequency of witch rises into the drop. A filthy bass grunges through the drum pattern. The tempo and phrase portray a sense of urgency and resolve, only to return to an even more state of intensity with drum breaks. This feeling is continuously exaggerated by the ever smearing or the horns in reverb or echo. Now the break down and second drop some how top the intensity or the first half and finishes in a final sense of completeness.
