This week was exceptionally hard to dig deep to find a great liquid tune to bring to the masses. Luckily I stumbled upon an act I’ve never heard before. Pulsate is a drum & bass producer from the Netherlands. and listening to their new Rising EP – it was hard to pick out one tune to review.
From the get go the amen kicks in with a very melodic synth in the background that captures your attention. The first break his and you’re smacked in the face with dreamy piano build that tapers off into the sunset as if you’re watching a movie. As soon as the hook kicks in, its full speed ahead with your traditional liquid roller filled with what would be wind chimes blowing in the wind which really sets it off. The second drop comes in more settle, very light on the senses but enough to keep your feet continuously moving as if you were dancing the night away.
They do a great job with adding in the proper amount of layers, and fills to keep you in a lucid state of mind the entire time. Out of all of the tracks on this EP, this one spoke to me the most. I’m not sure if it was because of the day, or the time but I couldn’t help but listen to this on repeat for an hour before even typing this out. This(or these) producers are definitely one to keep an eye out on, as far as this particular track goes – it’s left an imprint on my mind and will be kept on deck for the right moment & right time.
