Quadrant, Iris, and Kid Hops – 206 [Commercial Suicide]

by | Oct 19, 2015 | Tunes

Yes, I reviewed a different track from this album a few weeks back, but there are way to many amazing songs on this album to limit it to one track review.  The new album 206 from Quadrant, Iris, and Kid Hops on Commercial Suicide is making a lot of noise, and deservedly so. It is one of those albums that you can play from start to finish and then start it all over again! Every track is solid and is cohesive to the album but still stands on their own. There are diverse styles and sounds that highlights the depth and range of these three producers as well as a handful of collaborators. This is what it sounds like when a trio of producers are at the top of their game and firing on all cylinders. The title track to this album has a haunting voice that simply repeats “206” over a soundtrack of fast paced breaks, acid style synth vibes, and a moving mid range synth designed for maximum damage. It is impossible to sit still at any point in this one.
