Yo yo yo! What’s happening Best Drum & Bass readers!
This week we have a release on Toxic Inc to cover. As you may be aware from my last write-up of a release from this camp that the label is relatively new, headed up by Sicknote.
This release is a 4-track EP by the head honcho and consists of a decent variety of jump-up nan-slappers.
First up we have the title track, Sleeping Pills which has a wicked groove and high bass line which really gets you nodding your head and pointing gun fingers to the sky.
Next up we have Straight Facts which is a rolling banger with gutteral bass and very industrial beats which has you screwing your face up and vibing off this one.
The next track on the release is called Nonsense and this one certainly isn’t nonsense. A really heavy and dark jump-up behemoth which wants to get you moshing to this beat.
Last but not least on this one, the track entitled Acid House closes the ceremony. This one really has Acid House vibes to the intro and makes me feel all nostalgic, this then leads to a drop which throws a disgusting amen break in followed by a gnarly jump-up banger with distorted drums and face poinding bass.
What a wicked EP from Sicknote – hopefully there’ll be more to come from him in the near future.
As per normal, click the artwork below to take you to a pre-save link, this one will be released on 12th April 2024.
