SIGL – PAIN EP [WARLOCK AUDIO]

This Friday, August 14th, Warlock Audio is releasing hell! The stateside warrior, known as SIGL (Seek Inward Get Lost), has a three track EP that is going to lay a bad case of FUBAR on the massive. A serious EP coming by the way of the “PAIN” EP is set to shred the bins.

From parts unknown, SIGL wrote a few drum and bass tunes for fun. The first one was a success, so he just kept at it. That was 3 years ago. He was influenced by friends who played and liked dnb. But it was never his main thing until recent years. If you combine bulletproof sound design, mixing and mastering. With black magic connotations and pure devastation. You get a side of neurofunk that stands in its own lane.

With previous releases coming from Time Slip, Exult & Approach records. We just had our toes dipped in the blood of the non believers in the realm of neurofunk dnb. Right now nothing seems to slow the output and unrelenting power that this producer is prepared to unleash upon the world of dnb. The pairing with the dark dystopian harbinger of necromic drum and bass label, Warlock Audio. Is perfect for these tunes.

The opener “PAIN” slaps the dance floor with heavy masochistic vibes. Lead by a variety of warped and shifted vocal lines. Layered with sharp chip bit synths , open guitar chords, metal drum fills, chopped amens, and stomping basslines. This title track is pure power.

“GD” is a bonified slapper! Leans into the funkier side, but then wages pure havoc once the drops pull up on you. This one just comes straight at you. No frills or silly fake drops . Just carnage and power.

The ender is the personal favorite of mine, ” Soundboy” . It gives a lighter touch and a sense of pullback. From the intensity of the first two tunes. But runs all the fuck out! I love the hook and the more traditional side of older runtime neuro. The buzzsaw bass and layers layers of synth weaving about. Give all the girth you need to rock some subs.

I’m feeling this EP a lot. I’ve been sitting on it for a minute and dug into all the tunes hard. For the most part it checks all the boxes you want. Within the realm of heavy dnb and neurofunk. It’s sharp, clean, well structured and diverse. And it whoops the llamas muthafuckin ass!!!
