Splatii – From Russia With Love EP 1 – Dirtbox Recordings

Howdy Drum and Bass fans!  Strex here on the keyboard tip, bringing you another hot release in the DnB world!

This week we have one from Splatii, an artist hailing from Saint Petersburg in Russia giving us a 3 track EP on the mighty Dirtbox Recordings.  Splatii received a lot of tutorial from Paperclip, a reknowned artist also from Russia so we should expect some great things here.

First up on the EP we have a track entitled Aiko.  This one emenates a beautiful atmospheric intro with a tuneful piano riff that could almost be a bit of a liquid style but the drums say otherwise.  We are met with a nice chunky beat that leads us up to the breakdown before the drop.  Once it does, you are hit with a really cool stepper that exudes neuro and rolling vibes.  Some really cool samples in this keep the energy going, its a wicked track.

Next up on the agenda we have Night Bird.  This one starts off a lot more sinister and already sounds like it’s going to be heavy leading us to the drop.  It’s a choppy beat that takes on the form of the drop with some really cool squelchy bass and nasty riffs.  This track is definitely one to bag!

Last but not least we have Risha, the third track on this already epic EP.  A really wicked flow of a beat leads us through the intro with some layered vocals.  The breakdown gives us an almost militant marching sound to the beats and mechanical sounds over the top.  When this drops it is gutteral and heavy with filtered bass and a really metallic sounding beat.  A brutal track at work here that gets the head banging.  

So there we have it, a quality EP on Dirtbox Recordings from Splatii that keeps the style different all the way through but provides us with some epic production that should not be slept on.  The release is out now so you have no excuse not to bag it!
