SR – Drop It

by | May 18, 2016 | Tunes

In a scene heavily dominated by all to often simple drum patterns and complacent production one producer delivers uncompromising and fresh jungle music.36 Hertz is back yet again with a slamming release. This time in the form of two tunes from producer SR who is often producing and djing with Digbee. His solo efforts come no holds barred.

Drop it starts off with classic darker jungle synth stabs fading front to back. “DROP” is sampled into the mix as tight percussion plays into the foreground. The track quickly develops into an amen laden paradise with crazy precise and aggressive breaks. Early 2000s screaming synths claw away in the mix grabbing everyone in the dances attention as the dark and gritty bass line sweeps across the soundscape leaving no room for messing about. The perfect vibe for an absolute weapon on the dance floor.

This tune really brings me back to early tear out and heavier tech styles of the early 2000s with modern production and sound. That is one of my favorite time periods of DNB/ Jungle and hearing stuff like this really gets me excited. This is a must have release for any DJ who likes to ruffen it up in the mix and goes just that much darker and heavier.
Im very excited to see what SR has in the future for us and for Jungle and DNB music.
