Citrus Recordings is one of my favourite labels. Founded back in 2001, they’ve been putting out consistently solid material every fortnight for a good long while now, and show no signs of letting their hectic release schedule negatively affect the quality of the music they push.
Their latest release features three tracks from a trio of producers all hailing from the Czech Republic. Symplex’s steppy number Dessert thunders along, all thick and chunky, with a catchy synth that sounds like a pumped up variation on Ram Trilogy’s class Pacman remix.
Fresh from his recent EP on Eatbrain comes Qo with his suitably mental track, Maniacs. Great sound design on this nutty roller, reminds me of the stuff from Emperor’s recent Into Black EP on Critical Music (which you can read about here).
Last but not least comes Computerartist’s Took Place which rounds off a deliciously dark, brooding and twisting EP of the highest quality.
You can grab the Maniacs EP as a Beatport exclusive with other download stores to follow soon.
