Eighteen years ago, Technique Records was established by Simon ‘Bassline” Smith and Andy Wright of Drumsound. Today, it has become one of the premier labels for jungle, and drum and bass out of the UK. Let it Roll is the biggest drum and bass festival in the world, and it takes place next weekend in Czech Republic. This year, the festival will celebrate its 10th anniversary. Technique Records will have their own label takeover stage and will be going head to head with Viper Recording on the Madhouse Stage.
Technique Records have decided to put out an EP specially produced and designed for the Let it Roll festival. To get things started on the EP is a VIP version of a song off the album Warheads by Drumsound and Bassline Smith, it’s a high energy VIP version with percussive synths and pulsing drops. The song itself has a gritty bassline and is a fantastic VIP version. Tantrum Desire is up next with Vybez, no stranger to Technique music, this artist has trademark openings and this song is no different. The song has drum edges and dark drops that is perfect for any festival dance floors. No Concept are the newest artists to be included with the Technique team, and their song Make Noize has shown why these artists are considered top tier in their game. This song has it all, distorted basslines, punchy drums and caffeinated rhythmic sounds that keep the listeners engaged. L-Plus gives us Let Roll the World. It contains a dialogue clip that brings the whole EP an extra boost of hype. The song is held together with solid kicks, snares and bass sounds that play a nice dance in between beautiful sounding percussion instruments.
This four-track mini-compilation makes it very clear as to why Technique is a revered label and has their own stage at the biggest drum and bass festival in the world. Check out the 2018 Let it Roll festival, and for those who get the pleasure of going, stop by the Technique vs. Viper stage on Thursday, August 2nd!
