It’s hard to raise the bar and surprise your fans sometimes. It comes as no surprise that the RAM Records exclusives Teddy Killerz seem to have no problems doing that with every release, and Quasar is no exception (Toru having mentioned it earlier this week as being a close second to his favourite along with Hyperspeed, the title track of the EP).
With a metal guitar lead in the intro, and a sharp buildup, the energy in this one can be felt right off the first note. As soon as this one drops, heavy distorted basslines blast away and flow with the intricate drumwork the duo concocted. The velocity and groove in the second and third parts of the drop combined with brutal synths make this song a massive floor breaker. The second drop follows through with a simpler drum pattern but far more intricate weaving of the different sounds TK whipped up, creating a more broken, pounding feel to it.
All in all, one of my favourite releases this summer.
