Telekinesis – Conspiracy [Blackout]

The Slovenian bad boys Smooth and Markoman are back bringing the heat with a brand new EP filled with ammo for the season. Having some massive success in recent years bringing some of drum and bass’s heaviest and hardest grooving music on an array of different labels providing their signature style blending neurofunk with dancefloor elements subtly woven in. The New World Order EP holds true to their sentiment of style.

Conspiracy is my favorite cut off the EP being a super diverse tune in every aspect but especially for djing. The tune starts with percussion ticking full time as an atmosphere of mystery and adventure is drawn into the sound. Groaning synths heavily tuned break into the tangible poppy and clicky sounds leading up to the drop as a pipe hitting snare breaks the silence and builds rapidly. The drop barrels into full time grooving basslines combined with incredibly taught and poppy percussion elements with plucking synths toying away in the background. The tune breaks into the second drop bringing the listener back into a hypnotizing funky groove.

Overall this tune for me is really excellent and is a worthwhile pick up for not only DJ’s but listeners aswell. Showing once more Telekinesis will continue to innovate and provide some of the most carefully crafted music the harder DNB scene has to offer.
