The Fi5th – Procedures – Dirtbox Recordings

What’s going on squad!  Strex here, back with another article for you this week.  

This one is a wonderful Neurofunk album from The Fi5th on Dirtbox Recordings.  It’s comprised of all the Tape Pack series releases from last year from The Fi5th and by gosh, it’s great to have them all in one place.  

The Fi5th is a wicked producer who went from strength to strength last year, every release just sounding better and better and this heater of an album is no exception.  

From Dirt Face smashing you right across the chops with a heavy beat and disgusting bass, you have other tracks like Sir Trancelot which is a gutteral stomper that has distorted bass and some serious attitude.  Boomsonic is another one of my favourites with it’s rolling funk that steps through the rythm.  Then you have other stinkers like Chugganaut which does exactly what it says on the tin and is probably the best title for a track I’ve ever heard! 

We can’t forget other tunes on here like Distant Signs which has a real Therapy Session vibe to it for its rawness and heavy snare and Nameless Things with it’s twisted funk and bouncy bass.  Lastly on the release you have the aptly named Closure which is just screwface business, this one really gets my head nodding.

Anyway, regardless of what I said about the tracks I said above, you should be buying this release just based on the name The Fi5th.  His production skills are epic and any recognition you can give him would be well deserved.
