Boomslang Recordings celebrates their one year anniversary in a most monumental way with the latest from Transforma. This two track stomper including “You Know” featuring Binary and “Kick It” with MV is diving dangerously into the dark, methodical side of drum and bass as Transforma continues to pull out all the stops screaming through 2021 with a plethora of top tier releases across the board. Since I spoke with him in March for the ‘Boneyards EP’ interview he has dropped tracks throughout the year with creative consistency and still has a whole lot more in store! Let’s take a look at the latest landing Friday on Boomslang.
Transforma and Binary’s “You Know” swirls in on a mysterious vibe as soft pads chase a timid beat thickening the atmosphere with an obscurely warm energy as a melody builds beneath. Highs burst in winding to the drop yanking the mix deep into the depths of a technically composed masterpiece. The bass bounces and whips taunting the mix as the beats run wildly layered and manipulated as the measures flip varying the composition amidst manic highs and mischievous melodies. Powerful and thick “You Know” will give the floor a solid KO….
“Kick It” featuring MV glides in on animated atmospheric elements paired with pristine percussion building feverishly between madding melodies as the suspense continues to grow bringing the rhythm fully into the mix. Time to ‘kick, kick, kick the funk’ diving into the dark, dubby, dangerous drop. These sounds maintain the vibe crunching the lows as sophisticated patterning on the beats kick with full force rekindling the untamed melody once more. A deep symphonic touch lies in the undertones bringing balance and bounce to the composition topped off with wicked fills and aggressive effects. “Kick It” is yet another solid stomper from Transforma to smash in the mix there’s no stopping this machine and we can’t wait to see what’s coming next!
