It is that time of year again! Festivals, Camping, Music, and PLUR are all in abundance. I wanted to take this opportunity to showcase some of the festivals that are happening this season and the Drum and Bass acts that will be playing.
I am currently recovering from Electronic Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas where the likes of Mind Vortex, Breaks, Calyx, Tee Bee, and Fury all played. EDC has been going on for twenty-one years and calls the Las Vegas Motor Speed Way its home. Being that it is located in the middle of the desert, this festival starts at 7pm and ends around sunrise. Plan now for next year, I can tell you that it is worth it!
Let it Roll is August 2nd – 4th and is probably one of the biggest festivals for Drum and Bass Artists. This festival has all the acts you could possibly want to see, usually around 330 and clearly way to many Drum and Bass artists to list. I would recommend checking out the website Let It Roll and seeing just what they are about.
Big Dub is going on this year July 25th thru July 29th located in Pennsylvania. This festival has been happening for nine years and is a staple in the East Coast Festival scene. This year Drum and Bass legend Aphrodite will be playing two sets and you can also catch Black Sun Empire playing a set as well.
Shambhala in Canada, not to be confused with Shambala in the UK, is a widely known and loved Canada favorite, where again we will see Drum and Bass favorites Aphrodite and Black Empire Sun. This festival happens August 10th thru August 13th in the beautiful place called Salmo River Ranch in British Columbia.
Hospitality on the Beach is another huge Drum and Bass festival hosted by Hospitality Records. This is a four-day festival during July 12th thru July 16th and is on the island of Croatia. The name of the festival is “A Drum and Bass Holiday” so it will be filled with Drum and Bass and more Drum and Bass.
Liquicity Festival is July 21st and July 22 and takes place in the Netherlands. You will see Drum and Bass greats as Camo & Krooked, Fabio & Grooverider, Hybrid Minds, John B, Koven, The Prototypes and so many more.
What ever festival you attend be sure to stay hydrated, help one another, smile and dance, dance, dance!
