ID – ID. This is usually every DNB enthusiasts favorite track the majority of the season. Last year it was mine after listening to the Mefjus DNB 60 on Radio 1. Soon after I would learn the track belonged to the mighty Xtrah. Months past, and with each one my hope of ever seeing a release of this monster tune faded. The DNB Gods once again delivered on my prayers when Xtrah’s “Tibetan Funk” hit my inbox.
Tactile grooves and precision drum arrangement are the glue that holds this speaker beast together. The punchy kicks feel like taking a Shaolin palm to the chest. Mid range stabs accent the groove with eastern bells shaking the vibe in the top layers. Low growling bass rides beneath the track creating a cohesive vibe the rolls out in any set.
Dispatch Recordings has one of the best reputations in the scene and release’s like Xtrah’s new “Disturbance Ep” are a testament as to why. Keep you’re eyes on Dispatch as well as Xtrah throughout 2017 for the best is certainly yet to come.
