Filthy Philp & gANGLADESH – Cities EP 5 – Dirtbox Recordings

What’s happening my D&B friends!  Strex here on Best Drum & Bass this week with another wicked release.

This one is from our pals at Dirtbox Recordings in the shape of a 2 part release from Filthy Philp and gANGLADESH called Cities EP 5.  A little bit of fun rivalry between 2 cities on this one, from where the producers hail from, Bedford in the UK and The Colony in Texas.

First up we have Bad Bwoi from Filthy Philp and it starts us off with a summer vibing melody with some ragga vocals over the top but incorporates a nice clean Amen break over the top.  This one is a really tuneful bit of production which reminds me that summer isn’t quite over yet!

On the flip of that, we have gANGLADESH with Just a Gangster.  This one starts with a kind of 90’s synth with a nice sinister feel.  It drops into quite a minimal tune but with some serious punch.  A crisp and simple beat with some crunchy layered bass over the top.  This one is a banger!

Absolute D&B nut! Love any type of Drum & Bass really but Neuro is my main passion. I got into D&B back in around 2004 where I started going raving, I then discovered heavier D&B in the form of Renegade Hardware nights in London which I attended almost every one for several years.
