Jinx – Rock n Rollerz EP 6 – Dirtbox Recordings

Yo D&B Heads!  How are you all doing on this horrible November Friday?  Well it’s horrible in the UK, been raining non-stop for 24 hours!  So what better to do than sit down with a hot cup of cocoa and rock out in your armchair to the new Jinx EP on Dirtbox Recordings.  This one is part 6 in the Rock N Rollerz series and yes, it’s pukka!

First up on the EP we have a track called Rage which kind of kick starts with a euphoric sounding intro and a nice driven beat.  This takes you through nicely to a drop which is heavy, pounding and keeps that rolling feel whilst punishing your senses with distortion and sick samples.  It even has a beautiful sound that is reminiscent of Exodus by Chris SU which was one of my favourite tunes to hear in the club back in the day.

Next up we have a tune named “Call Me The Boss”.  This one hits you straight away with sirens so it’s a good job I wasn’t driving, otherwise I might have pulled over haha!  This then leads us to a drop which takes you back to the old school with its samples and beat.  The bassline squelches across the track in a wicked manner too.  Sick track that sounds like it’s taken Jungle to the new age.

The third instalment of this EP is Grunge.  It has a banging intro which takes you on a little cinematic journey then when it drops it’s a naughty little roller with a disgusting bassline.  I tell you what Jinx knows how to throw a party with this EP.

Last but by no means least, we have Our World.  This is moody from the outset, I kind of feel Sauron is watching me from this track already, before it drops.  When it does, it’s a heavy wobbler that gets the screw face twisted up beyond recognition.  What a beast of a track.

All in all this EP is absolutely banging.  Kind of wish I wasn’t sat in my armchair now, instead I should be 6 beers deep sweating in front of a speaker in a club.  Savage business.
