Yooo D&B heads! Got a new artist for you this week, on Dirtbox Recordings. Discovered by label staple Diode, this artist hailing from Ohio is called Jozef and he’s bringing the fire!
A 3-track EP which starts off with a track called Immortals. This track has some filthy Amen in the intro and then it drops into a gritty and dirty beat which you can hear the influences from dubstep that Jozef has had.
Next up we have Space Jazz. This one starts off mellow and you can hear how the track got its name. Smooth and moody while trickling along to the drop which hits you hard across the face. A wicked piece of production that layers that jazzy feel over some nasty sounds and beats.
Lastly we have Unit 56. This one is probably the dirtiest of them all, comprising some wonderful bass sounds and sirens over the top, it’s the perfect recipe of filth.

Born and raised in Ohio, Jozef’s journey through bass music started back in 2015, initially playing trap before moving deeper into dubstep, tearout and riddim. Along the way he has supported some serious names including Subtronics, Virtual Riot, Rusko, Infekt, and more.
Following the pandemic, his attention began shifting towards drum and bass. A move to Columbus helped push his music career forward before he eventually returned home to concentrate on being a dad and,, put more time into production. Since then he has enrolled with DNB Academy and thrown himself fully into developing his own sound.
His recent journey has already seen him supporting the likes of Reaper and Circadian in 2026, but releasing his own music is an entirely different step.
And understandably, the nerves are kicking in.
From our side though, there wasn’t much hesitation. When the music landed with us, we heard something straight away. Rather than dipping a toe in with one track, we wanted to give Jozef the opportunity to make his introduction properly with a full EP.
His sound sits firmly in the modern minimal jump-up world, taking influence from the darker, stripped-back style pushed to huge levels in recent years by artists such as `Simula` and `skantia`, while beginning to build an identity of his own.
