OnlyFunks LP – Various Artists – Paperfunk Recordings

Howdy Neuro Heads!  Strex here with a little article for you on Best Drum & Bass which brings a mega slice of Neurofunk goodness in the form of a Various Artist LP on Paperfunk Recordings, aptly named OnlyFunks – although this doesn’t have a subscription it is a play on names for something damn sexy!

We have a 16 track behemoth of some absoultely gnarly Neurofunk featuring the following artists:  TNTKLZ, Mansaymo, D-Formator, croo, 3XIL3, Phase Beholder, Irontype, Bullaway, Rieger, System Info, Paperclip, Higrade, Neurogruzovik, Toyfon, NERV3, RELAIDEX, Human Made, splati, GHIDEMORA, Nervorum, Den Blacky, Expromt, Dark3z, Quantum Shaker, Boolat, Blinded Theory, Acaled, Dailiv, 9thWAVE, Fatrolla, Fade Duster & Aptom.  What a list of definitely Neurofunk sounding names!

Each track gives you a meticulously produced banger which sends shivers down your spine from brilliantly crafted samples and beats meaning it’s so difficult to pick a favourtite but standout tracks to me are Sandworm, Enforcer, STRIKES, Yobka (which is a rolling cyber style track that slaps!), Don’t Stop, Round Tap, Kozerog & Elastic.

There is such a wicked variation in styles on this compilation album, it really keeps your interest and you could pick a tune for every set quite easily.  In fact, you could mix the whole album and it would give a brilliant set that encompasses all the different forms of Neurofunk.  

The release has new artists and seasoned performers which is amazing, giving the newer generation a chance to rub shoulders with some of the greats to share a platform that should be in everyones collection.
