Prolix – Killa Sound – Eatbrain

What’s happening my fellow DnB heads?

Hungry for more destructive music?  Well you’re in luck…. Eatbrain have just today released a fresh single from the mighty Prolix.  I’ve been a fan of his since the old Ganja Tek and Renegade Hardware days, his releases are consistently good and his live performances are energetic and so so sick.  As luck would have it, I will be seeing him B2B with Audio at Virus vs Eatbrain tomorrow night at the Steel Yard in London so I’m really looking forward to that!

So this awesome two-part single consists of a couple of absolute face melters, as we come to expect from that tediously long producer (look up the definition of Prolix and then think how tall he is 😉 )

First up we have the title track, Killa Sound which sounds like you are embarking on a torture chamber to begin with, walking the coridoors and hearing the suffering in the distance.  It then builds with the vocal “Killa Sound” repeating over and over until the drop smashes you across the head with all its might.  A typical energetic masterpiece from Prolix which will tear dancefloors to pieces, definitely can’t wait to hear this one tomorrow night resonating through the Steel Yard’s epic sound system.  

The flipside to Killa Sound is a track called Go.  The intro just as sinister with some wicked rolling amen breaks leading you to the drop which screams “Go!” as it picks you up and slams your head into the ground this time.  It kind of reminds me a little of Planet Smasher, an older track by Prolix which is just as heavy and stompy but this time even more refined and decapitating.  An incredibly pleasing tune to listen to and to mix!

So both tunes on this monumental release are certified bangers, released on my personal favourtite label by one of my all time favourite producers.  Sickness from start to finish, you need to add this one to your collection now!
