R-Vee – Lockdown – D-LiQ Records

Yooooo hows it going my D&B fam?  Got another one for you this week, this time from D-LiQ Records, the only source for Jungle/Liquid vibes.  The label has seemed to have taken a bit of spin towards a more jungle vibe lately and I’m not complaining!  Makes for some even more exiciting listening!

So this new single from R-Vee has two awesome tracks, Breathwork and Lockdown so lets get into them.

Breathwork is a vibey track that gives you some melody at the start with muted beats to journey you through the intro before a wickedly deep kick drum fires into life and pushes you at a rate of knots to the drop.  Some summer vibes hit you on this journey as the tune progresses beautifully before breaking down in the lead up to that highly anticipated drop.  A real old flavour hits you with an analogue sounding bassline and a simple but crisp beat making this tune a wonderful bit of production.  Hats off R-Vee, this is a good one!

Next up we have Lockdown, again start off with a slight melody and muted beat before rolling into a jungly riddim with some old school sampling to assist in the rolling nature of this track.  Really looking forward to the drop here.  The breakdown hits and you know it’s close, the sampling hits different here and then we are met with a sick jungle laden track which gives you the vibes to go raving in the 90s!
