We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of a true drum and bass legend, MC Conrad. A pioneer whose voice became one of the defining sounds of the genre, Conrad left an indelible mark on the music world. With a career that spanned over three decades, his journey began in the vibrant rave scenes of the early 1990s, where he formed an iconic partnership with DJ LTJ Bukem. Together, they propelled the sound of Good-Looking Records to international acclaim, with Conrad’s soulful lyrics perfectly complementing Bukem’s atmospheric tracks. Their performances at legendary venues like Fabric in London and Space in Ibiza, and at major festivals such as Coachella and Ultra, showcased Conrad’s unparalleled ability to connect with audiences around the globe.

As we remember MC Conrad, it’s important to celebrate the profound impact he had on drum and bass and beyond. His collaborations stretched across the music spectrum, featuring work with giants like Carl Cox, Snoop Dogg, and Herbie Hancock, highlighting his versatility and broad musical influence. Conrad’s explorations into house and techno, particularly through his podcast ‘Up on All Fours’ and work under his alias Con*Natural, further demonstrated his relentless creativity and passion for music. His contributions to the scene have not only enriched our musical landscape but will inspire future generations to innovate and express themselves with the same fearless spirit he embodied. Let us honor his memory by continuing to celebrate the music he loved so much.
