This week we had a full blown dance floor crusher hit the streets. “Golden Hour” is the single that I feel will resonates across the entire spectrum of drum and bass. It’s a little tech, a touch jump, slightly neuro, vocally haunting and slightly psy-trance. The sort of tune you could drop in any setting and get everyone jumping all about the place.

I can’t lie. I normally do not lean into this realm of dnb. The extremely manicured lane of mainstream dnb. The stuff that is engineered to copy a blueprint of success and further the push to marginalize and white wash a genre. That continues to suffer from imposter and sameness syndrome. Just to push it onto expensive festivals and Spotify playlists from posh dnb Allstars that do not really give a shit about the integrity of the genre. As much as they care about how much they can extract from the genre.

But this tune is really good. It is composed and written really well. The mixing and mastering is perfect. The vocal line is soothing and haunting without being a cheesy. At first listen, this tune had my whole studio lit the fuck up and I just yelled “BANGER!!!” at my cat. I highly suggest picking this one up and having it in your arsenal. This one will break necks and crush hearts FO SHO!!!
