The Fi5th – Augmented EP – VTO Records

Yo!  How’s it hanging my lovely D&B heads?

This week is special, another release from VTO Records and this one from one of the hardest working producers up and coming right now, The Fi5th.  A really sound guy from near me who is making banger after banger.  Keep your eyes on him as he’s absolutely killing it right now!

First up on the Augmented EP is the title track which has a really cool industrial and atmospheric intro.  This leads us then to a face melting drop of utter chaos.  Disgustingly heavy reece bass and snares that will put your nan in hospital even if she turns her hearing aid off.  What a lick, and that second drop is a rolling beast of a neuro banger.

Next up we have Faded, this is a chilling start to a tune that builds and builds until it slaps you right across the face with a snarling, heavyweight brute of a tune.  Incredibly sick Phil, an ode to everything you’ve been creating and the progress your sound is making.

The third installment on this EP is Genetic which even has a heavy intro which takes us to a real stomper of a tune that has gut wrenching bass and naughty percussion, the switch ups are something to behold too, yet another stormer from The Fi5th.

Last but by no means least, we have Jump Funk which rolls us through a fast building intro that decimates when it drops.  Another stomper, if Neurofunk was jump up for a day, this is what it would sound like.  Kind of reminds me of late 2000’s Neuro when it was evolving into the sound we know today.

Well, I can’t really say any more than I have already, the 4 track EP is so destructive and every tune is an absolute slapper.  You could just mix all 4 on repeat in a set and people would lap it up.

Go and grab your copy on the 19th July by clicking the artwork below and check the clips beneath that.

Absolute D&B nut! Love any type of Drum & Bass really but Neuro is my main passion. I got into D&B back in around 2004 where I started going raving, I then discovered heavier D&B in the form of Renegade Hardware nights in London which I attended almost every one for several years. Having developed my listening style with how the music has evolved I love the freshest tunes as well as the old ones! I've been mixing for fun since around 2005 and just love playing in front of people and sharing the music with likeminded people.
